About the Housekeeping department
Housekeeping is the backbone of every hotel. It is the largest department by headcount in most properties and directly responsible for the guest experience in the most private space of the hotel — the room. The department is physically demanding but offers a clear and rewarding career progression path. Attention to detail, consistency, time management and the ability to lead large teams are the defining skills at every level. Housekeeping managers are among the most respected department heads in Thai hospitality.

Your starting point. Focus on mastering room cleaning standards, understanding chemical safety, learning the property's brand standards and building speed without sacrificing quality.

Senior Room Attendant / Public Area Attendant14,000 – 20,000 THB
1 to 3 years experience
You are consistent and reliable. You know the standards inside out. Start supporting newer room attendants, taking on VIP rooms and developing your communication skills with guests and supervisors.

Housekeeping Supervisor18,000 – 28,000 THB
2 to 5 years experience
Your first leadership role. You are responsible for a floor or section, inspecting rooms, briefing your team, managing supplies and ensuring every room meets brand standard before it is released to the front desk.

Assistant Executive Housekeeper30,000 – 50,000 THB
5 to 8 years experience
You are running the department day to day alongside the Executive Housekeeper. Scheduling, training, linen and chemical inventory, lost and found, guest complaint resolution and department reporting all sit with you.

You own the department. Full responsibility for cleanliness standards across the entire property, budget management, team recruitment and development, chemical and linen procurement, and direct reporting to the General Manager.

- Volunteer for VIP and suite preparation — it gets you noticed by supervisors and the Executive Housekeeper
- Learn basic English for guest communication — even simple phrases make a significant difference to guest satisfaction scores
- Understand chemical usage and safety fully — supervisors and managers who know their chemicals are trusted with more responsibility
- Ask to be involved in room inspections as a senior attendant — learning the inspection eye early accelerates your move to supervisor
- Build a strong relationship with the laundry and public area teams — the Executive Housekeeper oversees all of these and needs managers who understand the full operation
